2014 Maserati GranTurismo Sport

The GranTurismo Coupe and Convertible are both powered by a 4.7L hand-built V8 engine which is combined with a 6-speed automatic transmission. In standard convertible trim, this engine makes 444 horsepower and 376 pound-feet of torque. Coupes and all other versions of the convertible utilize a slightly more powerful version of this engine with 454 hp.

All GranTurismo models come with a 6-speed automatic transmission with both manual and sport modes, with the latter opening up the exhaust system for a louder, deeper note during acceleration. Sport mode also reduces shift times by about 50 percent.

Most GranTurismo models get an adjustable Skyhook air suspension that combines reasonably good ride comfort with the firmness and response of a performance car. Instead of the Skyhook adjustable air suspension, the MC gets a conventional suspension that in effect has firmer springs, as well as a thicker front anti-roll bar. Inside, the MC also gets larger shift paddles alongside the steering wheel.

The MC also gets special front and rear fascias and aero bodywork (reducing downforce at high speed), wider fenders and a unique hood. It also includes Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, a sport exhaust and 20-inch wheels with custom-developed Pirelli tires.

The GranTurismo Convertible has nearly the same interior arrangement as the GranTurismo Coupe, but with a canvas soft top that can be opened automatically in just 24 seconds. Convertible models also have the same amount of trunk space whether the top is up or down–which differs from models with folding-hardtop arrangements.

All GranTurismo models come with automatic climate control, cruise control, keyless entry, real wood trim, heated seats and mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, headlight washers, power seats (memory for the driver) and a park-assist system, plus Bluetooth hands-free capability, voice recognition and steering-wheel audio controls in a Bose 11-speaker Surround Stage premium audio system.
